Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Job Specialty: Respiratory Care
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:00 - 06:30)
Guaranteed Hours: Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without paying for the canceled hours.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted.
License: Active IL license required to apply.
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, RRT, and State license required.
Must-Have:
• Experience in Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, and Pediatrics.
• Cerner charting experience.

• Responsible for providing respiratory care services to patients of all age groups, from neonatal through geriatric.
• Assist with bronchoscopies as needed and participate in nighttime and daytime Spontaneous Awakening Trials (SAT) / Spontaneous Breathing Trials (SBT).
• Provide routine respiratory care and respond to Emergency Department for codes, traumas, and severe respiratory distress.
• Work in a Level II Nursery and manage sporadic bubble CPAP and invasive mechanical ventilation.
• During respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) season, provide care for pediatric patients.
• Required skills include managing Drager V500 Ventilators, EV 300 Bipaps, V60 Bipaps, ResMed Tabletop PAP Devices, Volara (Metaneb), Vest therapy, Aerobika, Breath Actuated Nebulizers, and Aerogen on all equipment.
• Required to manage a variety of airway and oxygen therapy devices.
• Administer medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Bicarbonate, Combivent, Flovent, Inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, and Xopenex.
• Participate in patient transfers to sister hospitals if necessary.
• Must be available for on-call duties from December to April and float within scope as needed.
• Work every other or every third weekend depending on department needs.
• Required professional skills include ABG interpretation, chest physiotherapy, and drawing arterial blood gases.
• Must wear navy blue scrubs (preferred) or any solid color.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience in NICU, PICU, and high-risk neonatal deliveries.
• Experience in community hospitals and Level I and II trauma centers.
