Overview

The starting pay rate may be negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Registered Nurses (RN) at the Vermont Veterans' Home (VVH) develop and manage nursing care plans, as well as instruct patients and their families in proper treatment for the highest level of function/quality of life.
We provide person-centered care and all residents/families are encouraged to be active participants.
We provide clinical oversight along with a wide range of services for long-term and short-stay admissions.
We currently have part-time evening positions available.
These positions are eligible for benefits.
The hours are 2pm to 10:
30pm, 24 hours per week, and include working weekends & holidays.
Shift differentials, as applicable, will apply to hours worked on evenings and weekends.

Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position, including Vermont and national criminal record checks, adult and child abuse registry checks, the Office of Inspector General exclusion database, and motor vehicle driving record checks where applicable.
Environmental Factors

Duties primarily performed in a clinical setting.
Work may require travel off-site.
Exposure to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, potentially physically and verbally violent patient population and other stressful situations may occur.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of, or eligible for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license AND two (2) years or more of professional nursing experience.
OR
Possession of, or eligible for, licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Vermont OR eligible to practice in the state of Vermont via a multi-state license AND one (1) year or more of experience as a Registered Nurse I with the State of Vermont.
Special Requirements

Overtime work is required to maintain minimum staffing levels and for unannounced regulatory inspections and is considered a condition of employment.
The ability to work overtime when required is an essential function of this job class.
