Our client, a leading publisher of world language products, is seeking a dedicated and driven Regional Sales Manager (Central Territory) to join their team. This person will be responsible for cultivating a team of Language & Literacy Sales professionals as they work to achieve the next level of success in the K12 market. Your expert coaching, territory planning, sales skills and K12 adoption expertise will provide guidance on development and execution of the overall sales strategy for the company's suite of print and digital products.

This role is field-based, 100% remote and requires 60% travel.

Candidates must be located in one of the following states in order to be considered: Texas (TX) or Illinois (IL) and within close proximity to an airport. Relocation is not available for this position.

Responsibilities:
Mentor, direct and coach a field-based sales team in order to deliver profitable growth as well as uphold a culture of success and ongoing achievement.
Carefully analyze and evaluate regional sales/ opportunity reports with entrepreneurial eyes to help forecast, prioritize and drive territory growth and develop appropriate strategies.
Develop, implement and adjust strategic plans with an eye to exceed regional business development and sales goals.
Maintain a high level of understanding of the full suite of print and digital product offered by the company.
Maintain tight oversight of customer trends, market landscape, competitive insights and consumer trends in order to drive action plans and develop winning tactics to the field.
Capture, maintain, and disseminate accurate and relevant opportunity information using Salesforce.com. Provide feedback and prepares regular reports to Sales, Marketing & Technology leadership.
Strategically partner with reps on key customers/ opportunities/ States and adoptions. This includes strategically targeting, prospecting and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences and decision makers when appropriate.
Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients, manage and close strategic opportunities.
Ensure consistent utilization, management and administration of Salesforce.com (CRM), products, technology and policies.
Manage region's expense budget.
As needed activities may include but are not limited to: creating a marketing plan specific to state adoptions, onboarding and training sales per diems to work said state adoptions and participating in company, regional and state meetings pertaining to adoptions.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree minimum
10+ years of successful consultative sales or business development experience with both digital and print products within K12 publishing, Education Technology (Ed-Tech) or a similar industry
1+ years managing and developing both remote/field-based sales team members and other people managers with a strong 'player-coach' mentality (must have managed a team of at least 3)
Prior experience managing or being highly involved in the State Adoption Process
Consistent track record of year over year sales territory growth (as a rep or a manager)
Experience analyzing sales data and creating accurate regional forecasts
Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with the ability to adapt quickly and appropriately to the intended audience
Excellent strategic thinking, negotiation, territory management and creative prospecting skills
Travel within the region (up to 60%) in order to support team member development and success required
Ideal:

Reside within the state of Texas
Familiar with our client's products
Have prior sales experience or managing teams that sold language learning focused products
Have strong CRM knowledge, ideally Salesforce.com
High level knowledge of State Adoptions
Have a working knowledge of multiple languages (Spanish or French specifically)
Have an advanced degree

SALARY RANGE:

$120,000 - $140,000
