BestCare Treatment Services, Inc, located in breathtaking central Oregon, is recruiting for a Chief Behavioral Health Officer (CBHO) to join our Leadership team! The Chief Behavioral Health Officer will champion a collaborative approach to care by integrating MH, SUD, and medical services across all sites, aligning with BestCare's mission to deliver comprehensive, compassionate, patient-centered care. This role is critical in developing cross-functional teamwork, shared accountability, and industry-leading quality standards. The position directly supervises behavioral health program directors, ensuring that program deliverables conform to agency needs and align with best practices, mission and vision of the agency.

Essential Functions of the Chief Behavioral Health Officer position include:

Organization Management: Works closely with other members of the Leadership Team to provide overall strategic and operational leadership to the organization
Clinical Leadership and Alignment: Promote whole-person care through the integration of behavioral and medical approaches to care
Supervision: Provides clinical and administrative supervision for program directors, ensuring quality of services while championing and monitoring agency-adopted, evidence-based practices
Team Leadership: Provides leadership to the Clinical Operations Team, supporting cross-departmental initiatives that focus on integration and continuity of practice
Fostering Community Partnerships: Promotes agency priority of robust and well-defined community partnerships that benefit patient recovery and align with clinical outcomes
Organizational responsibilities: Performs work in alignment with BestCare's mission, vision, and values. Supports the organization's commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion by fostering a culture of open-mindedness, cultural awareness, compassion, and respect for all individuals
Additional responsibilities: Provides coverage for the CEO and Program Directors on a short-term basis, as needed.

Our ideal candidate for the Chief Behavioral Health Officer rolewill possess the following qualifications and competencies:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Graduate Degree from a nationally accredited school in a human services discipline
Minimum ten (10) years of related work experience in the social services or behavioral health fields with at least six (6) years' post-graduate clinical experience in a related health care setting is required
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive professional organizational leadership experience
Demonstrated experience in independently implementing large and complex initiatives
Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and integrating services across multiple disciplines
For individuals in recovery from substance-use disorder, must have maintained continuous recovery for the previous five (5) years at the time of hire

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Current Licensure as a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist), or Licensed Psychologist in the State of Oregon within 6 months of hire is required.
Must maintain a valid Oregon Driver License or ability to obtain one upon hire and be insurable under the organization's auto liability coverage policy (minimum 21 years of age and with no Type A violations in the past 3 years, or three (3) or more Type B violations).

PREFERRED:

CADC-III certification with MHACBO

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Must have demonstrated competency or ability to attain competency for each of the following within a reasonable period:

Ability to maintain professional communications and boundaries while managing complex situations
Strong understanding of EHR systems (e.g. EPIC) and the use of data in operational and strategic decision-making
Exceptional leadership and communication skills
Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and successfully managing profit/loss responsibilities
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
High proficiency in MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook), EHRs, databases, virtual meeting platforms, internet, and ability to learn new or updated software
Ability to build and lead high-performing teams

BestCare offers an Excellent Total Compensation Package which includes the following Perks:

Professionally salaried role commensurate with Education, Licensure and Experience
$175,000 to $225,000 annually
Regence Medical with Traditional or HSA plan- Employer paid Employee and dependent monthly premiums
Moda Willamette or Moda Delta Dental options - Employer paid Employee monthly premiums
Employer paid Life insurance- $50,000 (buy up option to $500,000)
PTO- 4 weeks annually and tiered based on tenure up to 6 weeks annually, plus 9 paid holidays
Retirement 403(b) & Roth IRA match up to 5% after one year/ Tiered up to 10% based on tenure
Employer paid Long Term Disability
Professional Development - $5,000 available annually (fiscal year)
