Position Overview (Summary/Objective):

We are seeking a technical manager responsible for leading a team of systems engineers and project managers in our Signature Management and Analysis group. The SigMA Group develops innovative solutions for radar cross section signature diagnostic applications. We are a diverse and multi-disciplinary group working to help strengthen our national defense in a flexible work environment that fosters innovation and collaboration. The technical manager responsibilities outlined below are in addition to any role already being performed.
Responsibilities:

Lead a diverse workforce to ensure customer support across multiple production platforms and development contracts, managing time off requests to ensure appropriate coverage as needed.
Provide leadership, technical direction, and guidance to staff to support career plans and to foster a culture of growth and continuous improvement.
Serve as a leader in the business who staff can rely on.
Work with Human Resources for performance reviews, promotions, and reward nominations as appropriate.
Identify project needs and manage staffing requirements both within the team and across other ARKA departments.
Identify capital needs and work with management to prioritize and budget.
Basic Qualifications:


Active Top Secret security clearance.
Leadership experience.
Solid project management skills with office and data center projects.
Strong business, organizational and management skills with an emphasis on relationship management.
Capable of evaluating staff professionally, objectively, and without bias to identify and communicate strengths and developmental needs for individuals.
Ability to have difficult conversations and provide candid feedback.
Problem solving, analytical reasoning, and negotiation skills.
Leadership abilities coupled with good interpersonal skills and solid decision-making ability.
Demonstrated ability to manage time and perform multiple tasks simultaneously while affording top priority to business-critical issues.
Preferred Qualifications:


Previous people management experience.
Background in signature diagnostic applications.
