We are seeking an experienced Principal Design Systems Strategist to lead the development and deployment of a cohesive design system for our software platforms. This role will streamline the design-to-development pipeline, ensuring a seamless transition from design concepts to implementation. By fostering collaboration across product lines, this role will enhance our design consistency and user experience across all digital touchpoints.

How You'll Create Possibilities

Responsibilities:

1. Design Systems Development and Deployment

Drive the creation and implementation of design systems that align with brand and interaction goals, supporting seamless asset transition to the software team.

Advocate for system components across functions, ensuring they move effectively through the New Product Introduction (NPI) pipeline.

2. Strategic Vision and Project Leadership Translate organizational vision into actionable design systems that deliver on strategic goals.

Prioritize initiatives and lead effectively through ambiguity, providing clear direction and prioritization.

3. Collaboration with Software and Usability Teams Partner with software teams to design and manage the asset conversion process, creating ready-to-develop components.

Collaborate with usability experts to shape UI architecture, interaction flows, and functional prototypes, advancing designs through stages from wireframes to full visual compositions.

4. User Research and Design Enhancement Identify and lead user research initiatives, synthesizing findings into user scenarios, task flows, and wireframes that enhance the user experience.

Create compelling design proposals, including concepts, scenarios, and visions, to share with cross-functional teams.

5. Data-Driven Decision Making Leverage data to inform design decisions and establish KPIs to track and measure success.

Develop forward-looking UI strategies that account for user context, emerging technology, and industry trends.

6. Technology and Trend Forecasting Stay ahead of UI/UX trends, forecasting new technologies and branded interactions within and outside of the industry.

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User-Centered Design, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial design, UI design, or a similar field.

Extensive experience in creating and deploying design systems.

Strong technical acumen with an understanding of engineering requirements.

Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, Token's Studio) and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

In-depth knowledge of user-centered design processes and tools, including wireframes, flowcharts, style guides, and digital prototypes.

Familiarity with iOS and Android UI guidelines.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functions.

Strong understanding of design system development and deployment, along with experience using brand style guides for creating cohesive UI/UX.

Preferred: Knowledge of the global appliance industry.

Experience designing consumer-facing interactive solutions, such as websites, applications, or electronics.

Professional certifications in relevant fields.

Active involvement in professional organizations.

Desired Characteristics: Team player with strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment, leading by example and fostering a collaborative culture.
