JOB SUMMARY :
The Materials Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling and monitoring the movement of material through the production cycle ensuring parts or materials and manpower are available for the shop to perform the work.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position is responsible for the accuracy of the MRP/APS reports and file maintenance.
Responsible for planning of assemblies and components.
Work with Sales, Source and other internal support functions.
Must collaborate/participate in goals and strategy to help to meet the production plan.
Determine material requirements from engineering and production schedules.
Ensures materials are ordered and in stock while maintaining acceptable inventory levels.
Develops material schedules and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering.
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's Degree with 1 to 2 years experience in a planning/scheduling function or equivalent combination of educational and experience such as a broad manufacturing background of 3 to 5 years' experience.
Proficient w/ Microsoft Office Products.
Internet experience to include use of Customer Portals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple projects and daily activities.
