Under the supervision of the Chief Physician and Surgeon, Correctional Facility (CF) the Physician Assistant, CF assesses and manages the health care needs of patients in ambulatory, inpatient, and specialized clinical settings. The Physician Assistant, CF performs physical examinations and therapeutic procedures; interprets routine laboratory and imaging results; and educates and counsels patients regarding matters pertaining to their physical and mental health. The Physician Assistant, CF may also be assigned call duties with back up supervision by a physician manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a current Physician Assistant license for the State of California. (Applicants who do not meet this requirement will be admitted to the examination, but they must secure the required license before they will be considered eligible for appointment. )
Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).

Candidates new to CCHCS are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis (TB) testing prior to appointment followed by department annual TB testing/evaluation thereafter.
