• Join a team of dedicated nursing professionals committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care.
• Assist the Nurse Manager with the organization and clinical management of the unit.
• Coordinate and support day-to-day activities in patient care, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulations.
• Function as a clinical/staff RN, occasionally responsible for a small patient assignment of 1-3 patients.
• Perform charge nurse duties, overseeing LPN, RN, and LNA practice, and delegating care as appropriate.
• Coordinate employee breaks, create nursing assignments, and make adjustments based on changing acuity and discharges/admissions.
• Assist LPNs, RNs, and LNAs as needed throughout the shift; assist with patient care and monitor lab/diagnostic test results.
• Follow up on referrals and consult with different departments as needed, such as pharmacy, lab, and radiology.
• Communicate concerns regarding employee performance and manage on-the-spot conflicts.
• Monitor charting for timely and accurate documentation.
• Communicate with team members and management to coordinate discharges, admissions, and transfers.
• Act as the main resource and house supervisor on off shifts, keeping all units/providers informed of bed availability.
• Communicate with other area hospitals regarding bed availability to facilitate patient transfers.
