• Job Title: Medical Receptionist (Patient Coordinator)
Company: Maryville Eye Surgery Center
Location: Maryville, IL
Pay Range: $16.00-17.50/hr, depending on experience
Hours:
Part-Time
Our office is open Monday-Friday 6:00am-4:00pm.
You need to be available to work any shift within these hours, and you may need to work a little earlier and/or later as needed.
You will typically work 3-4 days per week
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Favorable result on Background Check
Basic computer skills
Strong customer service skills
Excitement to learn and grow
Essential Functions:
Facilitate patient flow
Verify medical and vision insurances
Effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers
Answer inquiries through phone, email, and in person requests
A Patient Coordinator employee is trained to act as the first point of contact for our patients where they set the tone for the patients visit through excellent patient care. This employee will also perform the necessary administrative responsibilities needed to create a smooth check-in/out experience for patients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone). Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly with a smile, and thank them when they leave
Answer phones (both external and internal); assure prompt, courteous service at all times
Practice urgency at all times with patients time, as well as Doctors time and schedule
Manage patient flow in the office
Knowledge of common fees charged for common visits and collect correct payments
Complete daily reconciliations / close day / countdown cash drawer
General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager

Consistently creating a positive work environment by being team-oriented and patient-focused
Ability to interact with all levels of employees in a courteous, professional manner at all times
Commitment to work over 40 hours in a week as needed in order to meet the needs of the business
Education and/or Experience Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Favorable result on background check required
Must be able to provide proof of identity and right to work in the United States
