Description
Join our team at Polara Health, an accredited community mental health facility in Prescott and Prescott Valley Arizona, committed to providing high-quality care and support to our patients. We are currently hiring certified Paramedics to join our dedicated team.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Thorough collection of patient assessment values and history, to include medication reconciliation (Meds prescribed vs compliance, consumed but not prescribed, etc.).
Creation of differential diagnosis used to develop and implement competent, complete treatment plans necessary for emergent, as well as non-emergent, patients.
Perform all medical procedures within defined scope of practice to create optimal medical, mental and emotional patient outcomes, up to and including, transfer of care to Polara Health facility, ambulance transport, or emergency department placement.
Complete, clear, and timely patient charting with secure disbursement of applicable documents necessary for continuation of non-paramedic care.
Assist physicians, therapists, nurses and other providers in the planning of possible treatment options, communicate with law enforcement, ambulance crews, hospital staff, and other facilities as to the appropriateness of patient transport decisions before, during, and after arrival at our facilities.
Participate in other medical tasks as necessary, (i.e. COVID-19 rapid testing, drug and alcohol testing), perform blood draws, start IVs, delivery of prophylactic as well as emergent fluids and medications.
Participate in the maintenance, stocking, organization, and common cleaning tasks of paramedic area.
Intervene pro-actively with clients within scope of paramedic responsibilities in situations where clients may be escalating emotionally and/or behaviorally using approved non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including the least restrictive interventions appropriate for the situation w
Document all client contacts and complete forms as required by program policy and procedure
Attend and participate in shift reports, site meetings, and trainings as mandated by agency policy and procedure
Communicate effectively and promote quality service within a compassionate environment by treating clients and co-workers with respect and dignity.
Maintain a clean and orderly environment in all client, staff and facility areas.
Occasionally required to cover evening/weekend hours.
Support a work climate that emphasizes collective team performance and demonstrates Polara Health's core competencies.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Must be certified as a paramedic in Arizona.
A minimum of 1 year experience as a Paramedic, psychiatric and emergency room experience a plus
Must have current ACLS certification.
Attend continuing education and training classes to stay current with emergency medical advancements and best practices as well as those mandated by company policy.
Other
Must have mastered the full legal scope of practice for Paramedic Level in geographical area of care.
Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team setting
Ability to communicate with and maintain working relationship with Emergency Room personnel regarding patient transfer needs and care depending on a patient's history, diagnosis, possible chronic needs, and current physical/mental condition(s).
Must have strong interpersonal communication, problem solving and teambuilding skills
Must demonstrate clinical competencies essential to effective job performance
Actively participates in performance management and coaching
Demonstrates respect for consumer confidentiality practices
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment with shifting priorities and multiple deadlines
Show appreciation for and ability to respond to cultural differences, and adjust communication practices accordingly in order to minimize cross-cultural misunderstandings
Consistent work attendance and compliance with scheduled work hours (excludes approved FMLA absences)
Responsible for complying with Polara Health's Corporate Compliance Program as it applies to individual job duties, the department, and the company
Must comply with all Polara Health policies and procedures
Exercise due diligence to prevent, detect, and report unlawful and/or unethical conduct by fellow co-workers, professional affiliates and/or agents
Must possess/maintain a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization
Must have reliable transportation to oversee programming and/or attend trainings and/or meetings
