Deliver patient care to patients on the unit, keep the nurse informed of patient needs and conditions, and make scheduled rounds to assure the whereabouts and status of the patients.
Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, and work a flexible schedule based on service demands.
Maintain quality control logs, perform EKGs, collect and process lab specimens, and transport patients to appointments.
Assist with clerical duties and perform chart audits/reviews as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for several hours, walking, climbing steps, and descending.
Sitting for several hours for data entry and medical record documentation.
Driving a 15-passenger van or car to and from activities.
Qualifications:
Current certification as a C.M.A., previous experience working as a C.M.A.
in a hospital or long-term care facility, and current CPR/First Aid training/certification.
Two years of continuous sobriety preferred if in recovery, and previous experience in a hospital/chemical dependency rehabilitation treatment program preferred.
Must be 21 years of age or older and have a current, valid, unrestricted driver's license.
