SUMMARY:

The Night Mechanic will maintain operating machinery, install new machinery and perform building maintenance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DELIVERABLES

Provides general and preventative maintenance support to help equipment changeovers to meet/exceed operating standards in the areas of quality, cost, safety, customer satisfaction and productivity as well as minimizing downtime
In support of production, needs to effectively and efficiently adjust Temperature(s), Belt Speed(s), Air Flow, Coating Viscosity/Flow Rate, Bagger speed and functionality and Conveyors and weigh scales
Performs preventive maintenance to ensure that machines run at their maximum capacity through cleaning, lubricating, greasing and/or oiling
Performs facility maintenance including assisting in servicing and replacing plumbing fixtures and performing electrical repairs not requiring a licensed electrician
Participates on special projects as directed by the Maintenance Manager
Expected to occasionally make recommendations for continuous improvement (productivity, quality, cost and/or safety).
Complete all paperwork and CMMS PM program neatly, correctly, on time and in accordance with Company guidelines.
Work with common hand and power tools, such as hammers, saws, drills, wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Follow and comprehend verbal and written orders.
Communicate with employees particularly with regard to proper and safe utilization of equipment
Able to work alone or as a team member.
Able to perform Machine Operator tasks.
Follow all plant safety and GMP rules and regulations.
Assist where needed/required in all food safety and quality issues or programs.
Follows all safety and GMP safety rules and procedures.
Other Duties as assigned

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential Criteria

Experience in operating and maintaining state of the art manufacturing equipment
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
MS Office
Excel / Spreadsheets

Desireable Critera

Basic electrical skills
Basic mechanical skills
