Position Summary:
We are seeking a Shipping Specialist to handle outbound traffic activities, ensuring customer orders are processed accurately and shipped on time. This role requires attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in inventory management, labeling, and packaging. The ideal candidate will operate various material handling equipment, prioritize orders to meet expected ship dates, and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Ship finished goods and raw materials, label, and package them according to regulatory and customer specifications.
Operate forklifts, pallet wrappers, and other material handling equipment.
Use computer systems (Oracle applications) to process orders, generate labels, and manage inventory transactions.
Conduct independent cycle counts and ensure inventory accuracy.
Create bills of lading, coordinate freight, and contact carriers for shipments.
Develop proficiency in Shipping Coordinator duties, including order allocation, freight coordination, and export logistics.
Perform additional duties as assigned, including equipment sanitation.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 1-year experience in shipping, warehouse, or inventory control.
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and push/pull up to 1000 lbs with a pallet jack.
Forklift operation experience and ability to obtain IATA/DOT certification.
Strong math and reading comprehension, attention to detail, and instruction-following skills.
