UPMC Hamot's Cardiovascular Operating Room is searching for a Registered Nurse to add to their team! The CVOR Team covers Cardiac, Thoracic, and Vascular cases in the Operating Room and also works collaboratively with the main OR Team to maintain staffing levels. OR experience required.
This position will work Monday through Friday from 6 a. m. to 2:
30 p. m. with shared call hours during off shifts and weekends. For staff who commit to a certain number of hours of CVOR support and take call, a financial incentive is available. Apply to learn more details.

Role Overview:
The Professional Staff Nurse OR is a Registered Nurse responsible for setting care standards and providing nursing care. This role involves leadership, collaboration, and supervision to achieve desired patient outcomes.

Manage and provide care for patients and their families, using independent judgment and collaboration.
Professional Development:
Engage in activities that improve professional practice and patient care quality.

Effectively communicate patient conditions and care plans to other providers.
Education:
Teach patients, families, students, and new staff, applying adult learning principles.

Scrub Role:
Perform scrub duties (required for RNs hired on or after July 1, 2023).

Requirements:

Demonstrate knowledge and skills to care for patients of all ages, understanding growth and development principles.
Experience:
OR experience required.
Relationships:
Build positive, caring relationships with all healthcare team members and patients/families.
Work Environment:
Handle multiple priorities and specialized equipment effectively.
Clinical Judgment:
Use critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills in patient care.
Physical Requirements:
Mobility, manual dexterity, and physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

Certification:
UPMC-approved national certification preferred.
Licensure:
Current RN license or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP) in the relevant state.
CPR:
Required within 30 days of hire (AHA standards).
Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR
Clearances:
Act 33, Act 34, Act 73 FBI Clearance (with renewal).
