• SUMMARYPrepares and administers radioactive medication to patients for therapeutic or imaging purpose.
Performs nuclear cardiacimaging for the cardiac patient population operating the nuclear camera.
Provides technical support to medical professionals andPhysicians for the diagnosis, treatment, and care of the cardiac patient population.
On-call as required by the department.
Worksin a hospital facility that offers full hospital services.
Provides direct patient care to high acuity patients encompassingemergency, inpatient and outpatient classes supporting up to and including trauma and ICU.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerforms high quality nuclear cardiology procedure for cardiac outpatients including explanation of test and safetyprecautions, operates equipment, provides assistance during testing, observes patient, and reports/follows-up onany abnormal activity and documents.Operates cameras and other sophisticated imaging equipment to monitor how the administered drugs affecttissues and organs.Prepares and administers the proper dosage of radiopharmaceuticals and isotopes to patients by either injectionor inhalation.Employs safety methods such as the use of syringe shields, gloves, and personal radiation-monitoring devices toprotect patients and medical staff from radiation exposure.Oversees the ordering, storage, handling, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.Assists in quality assurance relating to calibration and maintenance of equipment, policies, and procedures andICAL activity.Performs required documentation and record keeping.Rotating on-call for holidays.The schedule :

30am-4:
00pm Monday-Friday with rotating Saturdays.
Saturdays start time is 6:
00am-2:
30pm.
We also have after-hours on call.Education - RequiredAssociate s Degree Nuclear MedicineEducation - PreferredBachelor s Degree Nuclear MedicineExperience - Required1 year Experience as a nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital settingExperience - Preferred3 years Experience as a nuclear medicine technologist in a hospital settingKnowledge, Skills and Abilities - RequiredAbility to work effectively under pressure and to use discretion with confidential data that may impact staff andoperation.Ability to monitor/assess performance of oneself, others, or the organization to make improvements or take corrective action.Demonstrates patient support activities such as patient flow, preparation, clean up, and turnaround of examinationrooms.Knowledge of nuclear medicine equipment and understanding of how to use it appropriately and safely to preventradiation exposure as low as reasonably achievable.Licenses and Certifications - RequiredAmerican Heart Association Basic Life SupportCNMT - Certified Nuclear Med Tech NMTCB General CommentsTimesheet Approver (Primary and Backup):
