Performs a variety of maintenance and engineering duties for the hospital and its facilities in one or more of the following trades: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and/or stationary engineering. Incumbent may be called upon to head up a group of workers on a project, instruct other members of the department in their field(s) of expertise, and review the work of outside vendors.

Education:
Minimum: Apprentice Program
Preferred: Trade School - Plumbing
Registration / Certification /licensure:
Minimum: Valid drivers license and maintain eligibility to be insured under the Health Systems motor vehicle liability insurance.
Preferred: Master Plumbers License or Stationary Engineers License or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum: Three years in primary trades(s) or six years general facilities engineering in a similar-sized facility.

Other Requirements:
Extensive knowledge and skill of building trades and utilities equipment. Within incumbent's primary trade(s), is able to work independently to analyze and correct complex problems and determine materials needs. Ability to read, comprehend and transmit complicated and detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
