A Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is a highly trained advanced practice nurse who specializes in providing anesthesia care to patients undergoing surgical or diagnostic procedures. CRNAs are responsible for the administration of anesthesia, monitoring of patients during procedures, and post-anesthesia care. They work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, surgical centers, and pain management clinics.

This facility typically employs a range of medical professionals to address the health and safety needs of their occupants. This staff may include physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and other healthcare specialists trained to manage medical emergencies and provide routine care. These professionals are essential for maintaining the well-being of personnel during extended operations in secure environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Pre-anesthesia Evaluation: Assess patients' medical history, current health status, and anesthesia risk. Obtain informed consent and communicate the anesthesia plan to patients.

• Anesthesia Administration: Administer anesthesia agents (general, regional, or local) and manage airway control during surgical procedures.

• Monitoring and Adjustment: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, etc. ) and adjust anesthesia delivery as needed to maintain patient safety and comfort.

• Post-anesthesia Care: Manage patients in the recovery room, monitor for complications, and ensure smooth post-anesthesia recovery.

• Pain Management: Provide intraoperative and post-operative pain management solutions, including epidural and nerve block anesthesia techniques.

• Collaboration: Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including anesthesia-related information and patient assessments.

Education:

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited program. Active and unrestricted medical license in Oklahoma

• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Qualifications:

• Certification: Board certification from the National Board on Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).

• Licensing: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with CRNA certification.

• Experience: Clinical experience in anesthesia practice, typically gained through a nurse anesthesia program.

• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, anatomy, and anesthesia techniques.

• Ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.

• Proficiency in patient assessment, monitoring, and anesthesia equipment.

Work Environment:

• Facility operations may include a mix of outpatient and emergency settings.

• Rotational on-call duties may be required.

Physical Requirements :

• Must be able to sit for more than 8 hours per day.

• Must be willing to work overtime if necessary.
