Brandywine Hospital for Pets in Zanesville, Ohio is looking for a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician. We have been an accredited hospital for over 40 years and are proud of our commitment to our patients and their families.

Our technicians are responsible for client education and communication, obtaining and running our lab work (IDEXX), in patient nursing care, placement of IV catheters, digital radiology and ultrasound assistance, patient monitoring during surgical procedures:
obtain digital dental radiographs and performing dental prophylaxis, collaborations with DVM on all patient cases, pharmacy integration, performing laser treatments with the Companion Therapy Laser and much more.

Our technicians continue to keep the DVMs on their toes with their quest for more knowledge. Continuing education is encouraged through Vet Bloom, in house seminars and outside opportunities.

We are looking for a team player who is responsible, reliable, flexible with scheduling in order to meet the needs of the hospital and who is excited about our veterinary profession and is willing to help us with our mission - Quality Care with Individual Attention. Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The technician must be able to multi-task. They must be able to think quickly on their feet. They must be able to develop positive working relationships with clients and co-workers.

Skills:

The technician must have skills/knowledge on how to perform dental cleanings, charting teeth abnormalities, anesthesia induction and monitoring, surgical preparation, intravenous catheter placement, vaccination administration, venipuncture, in-house lab work, and filling prescriptions. Should be familiar with veterinary practice management systems (Avimark). Our new Team Member must work well with others as well as independently, take initiative and thrive in a busy work environment.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Ohio is required.
