Position Overview
Designs for Health is a fast-growing practitioner focused business in the dietary supplements and nutraceuticals market, dedicated to promoting health and well-being through high-quality products. With a strongcommitment to innovation, research, and patient satisfaction, we have established ourselves as a trusted brand both locally and internationally.
We are looking for an industry experienced and strategic Senior Innovation Manager with strong project management skills to lead our commercialization efforts as we bring cutting-edge dietary supplements to the market. The Senior Innovation Manager will play a crucial role in driving our innovation agenda. They will partner with R&D, Brand Marketing, Clinical Education, Purchasing, Regulatory, Technical Services, Quality, and Sales to support the entire product development cycle. They will ensure effective integration of the supportive science package for new products to the marketing, sales, and educational teams, and overall follow-thru to commercialization of our new and renovated products.
Essential Job Duties
Innovation Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive stage gated innovation strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives and market trends. Foster a culture of creativity and forward-thinking within the marketing team.
Project Management: Demonstrate strong project management skills, optimizing resources to achieve strategic goals and timelines.
New Product Development: Contributing within cross-functional teams to commercialize and support the launch of new dietary supplement products that address practitioner needs, drive patient satisfaction and leverage emerging technologies.
Research and Development Partnership: Partner and collaborate with the R&D team, scientific experts, formulators, and researchers to support the development of scientifically backed and efficacious products.
Market Analysis: Conduct thorough competitive market analysis to identify gaps, trends, pricing dynamics, and opportunities for product innovation, and translate insights into actionable product development plans. Partner with marketing to deliver portfolio optimization programs.
Collaboration: Foster strong collaboration between marketing, R&D, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless product development and launch processes.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet high quality and safety standards, complying with relevant industry regulations and guidelines.
S&OP: develop volume forecasts for NPD launches.
Team Leadership: Inspire and lead a multidisciplinary team of internal stakeholders, marketing, sales, and operations team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional growth.
Partnerships and Collaborations: Identify and establish partnerships with ingredient suppliers, innovators, experts, and other suppliers to enhance the company's innovation capabilities and delivery.
Technology Integration: Stay abreast of technological advancements in the dietary supplements field and explore ways to integrate these innovations into product development.
Requirements
Dietary Supplement or Nutraceutical experience required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development and innovation within the dietary supplements or related industries.
Proven track record of successfully launching innovative products to the market.
Strong understanding of scientific research methodologies and their application to product development.
Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and drive cross-functional teams.
Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate market trends and consumer preferences.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Experience in managing budgets and resources effectively.
Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the dietary supplements industry.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for pushing the boundaries of innovation.
