Myers Industries, Inc. (NYSE:
MYE) is a leading manufacturer of a wide range of polymer products for industrial, agricultural, automotive, commercial and consumer markets. We are also the largest distributor of tools, equipment and supplies for the tire, wheel, and under- vehicle service industry in the United States. Myers Industries was started in 1933, by Meyer and Louis Myers, as a tire supply storefront in Akron, Ohio. Job Overview:


The Associate Director, Finance Transformation and systems will play a key role in helping the organization improve and optimize its financial processes, systems, and strategies, it will be part of the strategic initiatives to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and scalability of the finance function. This role is responsible for managing financial systems, driving process improvements, managing transformation projects, and ensuring seamless integration with other business units. A key focus will also be helping with the set-up of a shared services center in a low-cost footprint to centralize transactional finance activities and optimize resource allocation. Additionally, this roll will be involved with the development and implementation of Myers Data Warehouse and ERP strategies as enablers for transforming the businesses and functions. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of finance, financial systems, project management, and change management to implement cutting-edge solutions that align with the company's strategic goals.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assessing Current Financial Systems and Processes
  • Evaluate existing financial processes, systems, and controlsto identify inefficiencies, risks, or areas of improvement.
  • Assess technology solutions(e. g. , ERP systems) to determine if they meet current needs and identify opportunities for upgrading or replacing them.
  • Developing and Implementing Finance Transformation Strategies
  • Support the design and implementation of new financial processesto streamline operations, reduce costs, and improve accuracy.
  • Advise on the implementation of new technologies(e. g. , automation tools, AI-driven finance systems, or cloud-based solutions) to enhance financial reporting and decision-making.
  • Create a roadmap for transformation system and technology transformation, including key milestones, timelines, and resources needed.
  • Participating in design and implement finance delivery model and governance, encompassing end-to-end processes, incorporating accounting standards/policies and control requirements as well as emerging automation solutions,
  • Participating in design of the finance technology and data landscape considering the overall enterprise
  • Support the set-up of a shared services center in a low-cost footprint to centralize transactional finance activities and optimize resource allocation.
  • Financial Systems Management:
    Responsible for the management, maintenance, and improvement of an organization's financial systems.
    • System administration:
      Ensuring the security and integrity of the system's data, access, and interfaces
    • System development:
      Collaborating with teams to plan, design, and develop new applications and enhancements
    • User support:
      Providing support to financial system users, responding to questions, and distributing tasks.
    • Reporting:
      Assessing and determining data retrieval methods to meet reporting requirements. Work closely with the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) team to develop and refine management reporting tools.
    • Analytics:
      Implement analytics and dashboarding capabilities to enable real-time decision-making for senior leader
    • Project management:
      Working with cross-functional teams to plan projects
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with finance, accounting, IT, HR, procurement, and other departments to drive alignment on transformation initiatives.
    • Ensure finance systems and processes support regulatory compliance and align with overall business objectives.
    • Lead change management efforts, communicating effectively with stakeholders to foster adoption of new systems and processes.
    • Support the development and implementation of Myers Data Warehouse and ERP strategies as enablers for transforming the businesses and functions.
  • Development:
    • Provide training to team members, encouraging development of skills relevant to finance systems and process improvement.
  • Assist with Shared Services Implementation
Education and Experience Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, IT technology or a related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in finance transformation, financial systems, or a similar role within a large organization.
  • Strong background in financial systems, such as ERP (e. g. , SAP, Oracle), EPM, and financial reporting tools.
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale transformation projects within finance.
  • Solid understanding of finance and accounting principles, including US GAAP.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with experience building and developing teams
