As a participant in the Co-op/Intern Professional Development Program, you will be cultivating professional skills and performing professional level work. You won't just be sitting in meetings and shadowing all summer; you'll be actively contributing and doing the same work as other FirstEnergy employees on your team. You'll receive on-the-job training and challenging assignments. You will also be assigned a Supervisor, a Coach/Mentor and a dedicated IT Intern Program Coordinator to help you maximize your learning and growth throughout your summer. and beyond. Internships with FirstEnergy are full-time, paid opportunities spanning 14 weeks. You must be actively enrolled in an accredited university or college.

About the IT Enterprise Analytics & Integration Developer / Systems Analyst

The IT Enterprise Analytics & Integration Developer / Systems Analyst is critical to the successful use of the technology and software systems used by FirstEnergy. The analyst in this role must configure, fully utilize, and secure applications. They must also understand any associated application interface. In addition, they provide operational support to keep the system up and running.

An IT Enterprise Analytics & Integration Developer / Systems Analyst has a passion for technology and enjoys the challenge of digging in to determine how systems work and troubleshoot any issues. The IT Enterprise Analytics & Integration Developer / Systems Analyst also learns the complex business processes of the systems they support. They have great communication skills allowing collaboration between IT and the business unit utilizing the application.

Examples of possible job duties and responsibilities of an IT Enterprise Analytics & Integration Developer / Systems Analyst:
Supporting the application architecture Ensuring that the application server processes continue to run and operate in the most efficient manner possible
Properly control and maintain security of the application according to FE standards
Perform software installation and patching, as needed, based on application roadmaps and issue resolution
Identify opportunities to automate processes required to maintain platform performance and availability
Troubleshoot applications and systems for issue resolution and root-cause analysis

Supporting and improving business processes Create and maintain system documentation and procedures to ensure governance and standards
Analyzing requirements, documentation, use cases and workflow
Consulting with business partners to refine requirements and explain tradeoffs between usability and performance
Develop solutions to support or enhance production processes and operations (Using PowerBI and SQL)
Assist in defect resolution during testing of applications
Manage the IT change management process for new solution implementation, adhering to compliance guidelines

Provide insight into application data Develop data queries and reporting solutions to meet customer requirements
Understand the structure and design of the application's database
Provide data analysis based on business unit needs

Knowledge of database architecture and design
Experience with relational databases, including reading and revising data through software applications
Basic understanding of, or experience with, reporting and dashboarding solutions, particularly Power BI
Experience supporting software solutions
Familiarity with server administration and support Basic network concepts (network switching, routing, management, and monitoring)
X86 PC or server hardware maintenance
High Level UNIX/Linux operating system and system administration fundamentals
Windows Server and Windows PC operating systems

Applicant Requirements: Currently enrolled, full time, in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited university/college focusing on Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering or other technology related disciplines .
Class Standing - Rising Junior
Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2. 5 .
Must have the ability to work without sponsorship (now or in the future)
Preferred Skills/Experience Basic understanding of, or experience with, any kind of coding or scripting language (e. g. Microsoft . Net, Perl, Python, Java, C, PowerShell, SQL etc. )
Ideal Candidate : Highly motivated to work independently, utilizing virtual technologies, and learn quickly
Must be organized and work well with constant priority changes
Willingness to undertake assignments involving unfamiliar subjects
Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively participate on a team and in remote meetings and conference calls
