Job Details:

The Customer Service Rep/Community Wide Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and performing all scheduling & pre-registration of all Radiology modalities within the hospital. RESPONSIBILITIES

Describes nature and time requirements for requested appointments to patients and referring physicians
Schedules appointments according to each modalities requirements/restrictions.
Pre-registers patients at the time of scheduling. Enters and verifies all patient demographics, insurance, guarantor, ordering physician and reason for examination. Codes all procedures using ICD-10 for proper billing.
Enters orders accurately and ensures proper paperwork is provided to the patient.
Verifies patient's identity using two forms of ID in accordance with HIPPA.
Maintains orders from physician's offices to keep current and organized.
Logs daily refrigerator temperature for contrast solutions.
Attends all Radiology departmental meetings unless excused.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS EXPERIENCE

A minimum of one year of experience in a customer service setting Competency in computer and general office skills.

EDUCATION

High school graduate or equivalent required

Individuals in this position are required to exercise universal precautions, use personal protective equipment and devices, and learn the policies concerning infection control.
