Job Summary

The International Settlements Associate/AVP is responsible for daily security settlement processing for all Firm repo and securities lending clients.
Interfacing with our valued clients, both internal and external, under mandated deadlines.
Capable of interpreting trade flows and the complexities of static data, and various collateral types (Including CAD Treasury, CAD Equity, JPY Equity, US Treasuries, MBS).
Responsible for researching exceptions and enhancing the control framework for escalations that would highlight firm exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Settlement of International Securities (CAD Equities, CAD Bonds, CAD Treasuries, JPY Equities, JPY Bonds).

• Settlement of all trades, fails management, and firm funding projections.

• Ability to communicate effectively with traders and trading desks.

• Ability to work on trade processing exceptions in a back-office environment with multiple trade flows.

• Ability to recognize issues and solve and/or escalate items accordingly.

• Book journals into book keeping systems and reconcile balances to prevent breaks the next day.

• Ability to adhere to control and risk frameworks and collaborate effectively.

• Assist with messaging flow reviews and future state review for new systems.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced tight deadline environment.

• Identify opportunities for automation and process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy.

• Collaborate with internal and external teams to implement and test system enhancements.

• Maintain operating procedures and task controls for International Settlement processing tasks.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in an International Settlements, CAD Stock Loan, or CAD Sec Lend role with a broker-dealer.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Knowledge of Broadridge Gloss, Broadridge BPS, Broadridge Impact, Easyway/Euroclear,

• Knowledge of CDS, Arrow are a plus.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $90k- $112K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location.
