Lippes Mathias is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Legal Assistant. The successful candidate will be well organized, have strong communication skills, and will support the team in participating in closings, ordering title and surveys, managing closing checklists, reviewing and processing legal agreements and otherwise assisting with commercial real estate transactions matters. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Real Estate Practice Group and will assist the attorneys to which he/she is assigned and the group's lead paralegal.

Responsibilities will include:

Review and provide abstracts for commercial leases;
Prepare initial drafts of lease amendments and assignments;
Managing and maintaining closing checklists for purchase and sales and financing transactions;
Ordering and following up on title, survey and other third-party reports;
Maintaining electronic tracking systems of department matters;
Maintaining time entry for billable hours;
Prepare memorandums for opening new matters ;
Create/maintain electronic directories ;
Prepare and send out transmittal letters;
Saving, printing and filing of submittals on each file;
Delivery requests when necessary;
Prepare closing binders;
Redact and edit documents when necessary;
Copy and collate closing packages for closings;
Create accounting bills when necessary;
Maintain closed files, review and follow up on necessary items in order to close file;
Filing of copies of transmittal letters.

Our ideal Legal Assistant will have:

One to five years commercial real estate experience including closing real estate transactions;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills;
Enjoys working as part of a team;
Ability to complete projects with little direction;
Ability to use discretion and handle confidential information;
Ability to meet deadlines and produce high quality work products;
Accurate typing;
General office and computer experience required;
Ability to maintain composure under pressure;
Reliable attendance a must;
Experience with editing, revising and drafting of legal documents;
High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Salary range DOE: $22-26/hour

The pay range provided in this listing is a good faith estimate for this position based on the location that we are hiring for. Criteria included but not limited to, skill level, education, and experience, will determine where a candidate falls within the range.
