Contract Role
Location - Albany, NY - Onsite for first 4 months, then up to 40% each 2 week pay period.
Length: 16 months~March 2026
Overview:
The selected candidate will be a developer for the Client's Modernization effort and provide support for maintenance activities.
Responsibilities:
Provide programming duties for related applications.
Develop and review detailed documentation for system and program change requirement including detail specifications documents.
Assist and provide guidance through all phases of the project management life cycle.
Develop unit test plans based on coding changes and user specifications.
Conduct unit testing and debugging of all code changes in the development environment
Coordinate the migration of all code changes (programs, procedures, etc.) from development environment into user test environment.
Use distributed technologies including Java, DB2, XML and XQuery.
Provide support, as needed, for defects and issue resolution.
Ensure that defects and issues are addressed promptly based on priority.
Facilitate and participate in meetings with Client's customers.
Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with management and users, and team members.
Requirements:
3-5+ years of applicable professional experience
Candidate is able to work independently, without assistance.
Desired Skills:
3+ years of experience with J2EE technologies including JDBC, JSP and XML.
3+ years of experience developing, building, and testing Java EE applications using modern IDE's, such as Eclipse, Netbeans, or IntelliJ.
2+ years of experience using J2EE frameworks such as Spring or struts.
1+ year of experience writing SQL statements for relational databases.
1+ year of experience in messaging technologies, such as MQ, JMS, Kafka.
1+ year experience developing with HTML, CSS and JavaScript
