The Rutgers University, School of Nursing invites applications for a nursing psychiatric-mental health faculty position teaching didactic courses and clinical practica on the Newark and New Brunswick campuses. The candidate teaches and mentors students in psychiatric-mental health nursing across the life span. The faculty is expected to advise students, work collaboratively with nursing colleagues and colleagues from other disciplines, maintain clinical competence, maintain active involvement in professional organizations, maintain scholarship in their field, and actively seek opportunities for and participates in School of Nursing faculty governance. The position is primarily in the undergraduate graduate division but the candidate may be expected to teach courses across the curriculum.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to teach and produce intellectual contributions in Psychiatric- Mental Health Nursing across the life span in undegraduate courses
Administrative duties may include student advisement and mentorship, and periodic curricular review and updates.
Willingness to teach other areas of nursing, i. e. foundations, health assessment, leadership when needed

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience

Doctoral degree (PhD or DNP) required. Doctoral work in progress may be considered.
Expertise and experience in nursing/psychiatric mental health across the life span,
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience teaching baccalaureate nursing students
National certification in specialty area of psychiatric/mental health focus.
Preference will be provided to candidates who demonstrate scholarship (e. g. , publications, national presentations) and active participation in community and/or professional organizations

Certifications/Licenses

Current Licensure or eligibility for RN Licensure in New Jersey
