1. Functions independently within broad scope of established policies and goals under the general administrative direction of the Medical Director and the direction of the supervising physician for patient care issues, as appropriate.

2. Provide annual gynecological examinations, routine and follow up care and diagnose and treat acute and chronic gynecological problems. Provide care and treatment to obstetrical patients.

3. Provide and assist with clinical training in the onboarding of any Nurse Practitioners or Certified Nurse Midwives.

4. Communicate with OB/GYN office personnel, patients, families and other hospital departments to ensure high quality patient care. Initiate and assist in coordinating consultations with other providers and community agencies.

5. Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of information. Serve as a patients advocate to provide a safe and secure environment. Initiate and participate in the identification of important aspects of patient care for each patient and the identification of indicators used to monitor the quality of care.

6. Provide patient teaching and health counseling. Participate as a resource person within the OB/GYN office. Participate in the development of departmental policies, procedures and programs to ensure department effectiveness.

7. Upon request of the Practice Management team, perform basic nursing responsibilities including, but not limited to: telephone triage, quality assurance tracking and monitoring of laboratory and diagnostic testing reports.

8. Communicates with family members and health professionals regarding care of patients. Serves as patient advocate within guidelines found in the Patient Bill of Rights.

9. Assumes responsibility for own personal continuing education and development needs; attends meetings, workshops and conventions to enrich personal knowledge, growth and skill in providing clinical care for patients.

10. Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the position, department and hospital as described in the scope of service.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned or requested.

12. Challenges current working practices identifies process improvement opportunities and presents recommendations and solutions to management. Engages and commits to the organization's culture of continuous improvement by actively participating, supporting, and promoting CCHC Pillars of Excellence.
• (MSN) - A Master of Science in Nursing or higher
• (CNP) - Currently licensed as a Certified Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• (BLS) - Basic Life Support certification (obtain within 30 days, offered within)
• US Department of Justice and Massachusetts' Controlled Substance DEA Registrations are required for prescribing practitioners
