Psychiatric Emergency Services Registered Nurse Sign-on Bonus and Relocation Reimbursement Available
Negotiable Salary with 17% Weekday Nights, 26% Weekend Nights, or 15% Weekend Day Shift Differentials
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Psychiatric Emergency Services department. The ideal candidate will have experience in mental health/psychiatric care and possess excellent communication and patient assessment skills.
Detailed Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Interview, examine, and assess patients with various cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders; observe patient behavior and activities; perform triage and crisis intervention.
Treatment Planning:
Write treatment plans, coordinate patient drug and procedure activities, administer medication, and provide nursing care for assigned patients.
Charting and Reporting:
Document symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient conditions; collect and document data and information.
Education and Support:
Educate patients and families on treatment regimens, management of side effects, and compliance with treatment plans; provide emotional support and act as an advocate for patients and families.
Communication:
Provide information and facilitate communication between physicians, staff, patients, families, and community; coordinate and consult with service providers.
Requirements:
Education:
Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience:
1 year of direct experience in mental health/psychiatric care; bilingual skills in English and Spanish, or other Native American languages.
Credentials:
Current RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement by NM; CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer within 30 days.
Working Conditions:
The registered nurse will work in a fast-paced psychiatric emergency services environment, interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. The position requires physical stamina, manual dexterity, and ability to lift 50-100 pounds occasionally. Hazardous materials require personal protective equipment (PPE).
Estimated Salary:
$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, negotiable based on experience.
