The role involves collaborating with the Director in the public notification process as required by adopted County Ordinance. The individual in this role will need to attend neighborhood association meetings and events (often occurring during evenings and weekends), coordinating activities, addressing community concerns, and reporting issues for potential action. Public speaking skills are particularly important for this position because, it involves presenting news and updates at various events and meetings. The position also involves managing community outreach grants, from application to fund disbursement and compliance oversight. Strong skills in building relationships with elected officials, county departments, government agencies, and the community are essential, along with the ability to interact professionally with County Commissioners, the public, and various stakeholders. Strong written communication skills are important for drafting reports, correspondence, and other professional documents. Experience and/or education in Land Use planning is preferred.

The classification will undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks in support of the operations of programs. This would include planning and organizing programs and activities in assigned areas where they will need to plan, implement assigned programs with strict deadlines while staying within constraints by utilizing resources effectively. The incumbent will facilitate the effective management of programs according to the organization's standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

1. Program coordinators research, manage, coordinate, and oversee different programs in assigned areas.

2. Monitor approved expenditures of a program; prepare financial statements (if applicable), and may maintain contracts for their organizations as well as maintain records pertaining to activities in that particular area.

3. Work with internal and external stakeholders.

4. Support planning and coordination of a program and its activities.

5. Ensure implementation and compliance of policies and practices.

6. Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions.

7. Manage communications through media relations, social media etc.

8. Help build positive relations within the team and external parties.

9. Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda.

10. Ensure technology is used correctly for all operations (video conferencing, presentations, databases, etc.,).

11. Prepare paperwork and order material.

12. Keep updated records and create reports or proposals.

13. Support growth and program development.

14. Any one position may not include all of the duties listed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor's Degree in related field and two (2) years of work experience as it pertains to the purpose of the positions. Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above requirements.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

The offer of this Bernalillo County position requires compliance with the following:

1. Employee must successfully complete the post-offer employment medical examination and background investigation.

2. Employee must comply with the safety guidelines of the County.

3. Employee must complete required FEMA training(s) as assigned to position.

4. Employee must complete required Supervisor classes if applicable.

5. Depending on assignment, some positions in this classification may require possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license by employment date and maintain while employed in this position.

WORKING CONDITIONS

1. All essential duties are performed mostly indoors, with some positions performing functions in an outdoor and field setting.

2. Duties are performed in a temperature controlled environment.

3. Duties are performed on an even surface, which may be carpeted or tile.

4. Working surface is typically dry. Worker often works alone both with or without directions from supervisor.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS AND MATERIALS

1. Equipment typically used in the performance of office duties include telephone, computer keyboard, computer printer, photocopy machine, facsimile machine, and calculator.

2. Materials and products handled in the course of performing essential duties include files, forms, reports, various other paperwork, and a wide variety of basic office supplies.
