JOB CATEGORY: BEHAVIORAL HEALTH / LEADERSHIP / COMPLIANCE / CLINICAL POSITION SUMMARY: The Associate Director of Behavioral Health - Clinical, under the direction of the Director of Behavioral Health & Integrated Clinical Services, provides strategic leadership and oversight for the clinical operations of the Behavioral Health Department. This role focuses on enhancing clinical competencies, patient care quality, and integration with primary care services. The position develops clinical programs, provides clinical supervision for Clinical Services Administrators (CSA), and ensures a high standard of patient-centered care. Leads efforts to expand access, implements best practices, and optimizes clinical workflows in alignment with the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) models.

QualificationsREQUIREMENTSEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or closely related field.
Five year's post-graduate experience providing psychological assessments, evaluations and interventions with clients. This experience must include work with adults with serious mental illness and children/adolescents with serious emotional disturbance.
Three years' supervisory role in clinical development, patient care, or program management.
Additional experience and training in child and family therapy, chemical dependency counseling, cross-cultural communication, and rural and frontier service delivery are desired.
Experience in Federally Qualified Health Centers, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics, or integrated care settings preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have by date of hire and maintain current throughout employment:

New Mexico State independent licensure as a Master's level mental health counselor or social worker is required, e.g., LPCC, LISW, LCSW, LMFT, or LPAT. Must also obtain a supervisor designation certification no later than the next licensure renewal date and maintain current thereafter.
