The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach- 2nd Assistant is responsible for all phases of developing and maintaining a successful Men's Basketball Program at the College through their support of the Head Men's Basketball Coach. This is a part-time seasonal position.

* This position coaches the Gloucester Campus Roadrunners*

* Recruitment of potential student-athletes

* Practice preparation

* In and out-of season training

* Game/match day management

* Retention of quality student-athletes

* Ensure the success and safety of student athletes on and off the field

* Monitors team members' academic progress and performance and makes referrals to the appropriate College departments to enhance student's academic success.

* Safe transportation of team members to and from away contests

* Adherence to all NJCAA, Region 19, RCSJ and Athletic Department rules and regulations

* Assist the Head Coach with fundraising and development of alumni and community relations

* Ability to be a team player within the Athletics Department and the College

* Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Executive Director of Athletics

* Past playing and/or coaching experience in the sport of basketball is required

* College degree preferred

* Valid driver's license in good standing required

* Possess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partners

* Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff and a commitment to a student-centered environment
