Third-Party Logistics (3PL) ManagerSUMMARY

The Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and relationships with third-party logistics providers and ancillary vendors to ensure optimal performance in the areas of transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
The role involves developing strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high service levels across all logistics activities.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of logistics processes, vendor management, and a strong ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage and maintain strong relationship with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), ensuring compliance with contracts, performance standards, and service level agreements.
Oversee transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations provided by 3PLs, ensuring timely, accurate and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Develop, analyze, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess 3PL and ancillary vendor performance, including on-time and accurate deliveries, cost efficiency, and service quality.
Develop, analyze and monitor transportation and logistics expense Annual Budget, Quarterly Forecasts, and 5-Year Strategic Plans.
Develop and implement strategies to reduce logistics costs without compromising quality or service.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in logistics processes, working with 3PLs to implement best practices.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate inventory levels and efficient replenishment processes.
Ensure that all 3PL activities comply with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and internal policies.
Work closely with other departments such as Quality, Finance, and Sales and Marketing to align logistics operations with business goals.
Prepare regular reports and presentations on 3PL performance, cost analysis, and operational efficiency for senior management.
Accountable for oversight and supervision of direct reports.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship management skills and the ability to interact effectively in-person, via e-mail, video conference, and telephone.
Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills on all levels in the organization.

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
A Master's degree is a plus.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in logistics or operations management, preferably in pharma/ biotech.
Strong business acumen and analytics skillset with an understanding of logistics, transportation, warehousing, and distribution processes.
Experience with international logistics and customs regulations is highly preferred.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and successfully leverage internal and external resources.
Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments while being able to prioritize and meet budgets, deadlines and achieve objectives.
Proficient in MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Power BI experience is highly preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Supply Chain or Logistics certifications (ex:
APICS, CSCMP) is highly preferred.
