Job Summary:
This local delivery job involves city driving and requires drivers to be comfortable with navigating through urban areas. Drivers are home daily and can receive Safety Bonuses. Freight is NO TOUCH and some store deliveries are drop and hook. The hourly rate for this position is $27/hr .
Key Responsibilities: Deliver goods on time to dedicated accounts.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections before and after each load.
Maintain accurate records in the daily E-Log.
Operate Company-owned tractor-trailer trucks to transport freight.
Perform necessary maintenance checks and provide required reports.
Provide exceptional customer service during delivery and pickup operations.
Maintain all required certifications as per DOT, OSHA, and company safety programs.
Protect company property and report any accidents immediately.
Promptly inform Dispatchers or Managers of delays.
Perform other tasks assigned to support team operations.
Requirements: Class A CDL.
A safe driving record (MVR, CSA, and previous employment).
Ability to pass a DOT pre-employment drug screening and meet DOT medical requirements.
A good stable work record.
A current DOT physical.
At least one year of Class-A driving experience or equivalent military experience.
Be at least 23 years old.
Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.
Ability to safely drive various vehicles.
Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.
Effective communication skills.
Work independently and make independent judgments that have moderate impacts on the organization.
Physical Demands:
Extended periods of sitting while operating vehicles.
Frequent use of hands and feet to operate vehicles, adjust controls, and manage equipment.
Occasional lifting, carrying, and securing of cargo, which may exceed 50 pounds.
Continuous focus on driving and navigation, requiring high levels of concentration and situational awareness.
Potential for irregular hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and overnight trips.
Exposure to various weather conditions during loading and unloading operations.
Climbing into and out of the truck cab and trailer, as well as balancing to secure cargo.
Adherence to safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment as necessary.
Estimated Salary: $52,320/year based on 40 hours/week, $27/hr
