The School of Arts and Sciences (SAS) is the largest academic unit at Rutgers University and the center of the undergraduate experience on the Rutgers-New Brunswick campus and is comprised of 41 academic departments spanning the liberal arts.

Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Web Manager/Designer for the School of Arts and Sciences. This exciting role offers an opportunity to take the lead in developing and managing the main School of Arts and Sciences websites and its 120 other site designs and functionality to ensure the evolution of the school.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

• Maintains the Rutgers website and brand standards across all SAS websites to meet the needs of users and the institution's goals, as well as leading all website migration projects as needed.
• Works independently on large-scale complex website projects and is responsible for the overall content and design.
• Works with the central SAS design and social media team to ensure visuals, messaging, and marketing strategy vitally contributes to the school's multi-channel marketing and communications campaigns by creating informative and exciting web experiences that greatly enhance our presence and reputation.
• Collects and analyzes web metrics such as visits, time on site, click through rates, and user engagement.

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism, or a related field.
• A minimum of two years of full-time professional experience in project management and strategic planning at a corporation, brand, agency, or media outlet.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrates creative experience building/ maintaining websites/pages for many audiences.
• Strong project management skills required, preferably in storytelling, advertising, and marketing.
• Established record of positive and effective collaboration and interpersonal skills working cross-functionally with colleagues within SAS and across the University.
• Strong work ethic, with proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
• Experience using web tools and software for analyzing and improving website look, feel, and journeys for different audiences.
• Establishes successful and lasting work relationships with partners to maintain a professional and collaborative rapport between the Office of Communications and Marketing, the Executive Deans Office, and all internal and external clients.
• Must be detail-oriented, have strong project management and organizational skills, and have the ability to work as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to execute projects on time and work collaboratively on cross-functional teams.
• Team player with the ability to navigate complex organizations.
• Data-driven and able to use insights to understand what content and visuals are performing best while strategizing how to deliver more of it.
• Experience with web design, data gathering and analysis, and quantitative analysis.

• Prefers five years of full-time professional experience in project management and strategic planning at a corporation, brand, agency, or media outlet.
• Experience in higher education or nonprofit industry is a plus.
• Experience in project management and knowledge of HTML and website software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to present high-level reports and updates
• Strong interpersonal, communication, listening, and influencing skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally within the School and the University.
• Ability to develop project timelines and meet deadlines.
• Ability to initiate ideas, develop concepts, review processes, and ensure professional standards and high quality in all communications.
• Ability to work collaboratively and professionally to complete projects.
• Knowledge of SEO/SEM best practices is a plus.

• * Mac and Windows Operating Systems.
• * Knowledge and experience in Website Content Management systems (Joomla, Drupal, WordPress).
• * Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere Pro, in particular), digital media formats and HTML.
• * Experience in graphic and visual design.

• Ability to walk up and down stairs.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• May require use of own vehicle.
