As a Traveling Chef with Dartcor Food Services, you will play a pivotal role in leading culinary operations while delivering top-tier food experiences at various locations.
Reporting directly to the Director of Culinary, you will oversee and manage kitchen operations, execute innovative menus, and ensure guest satisfaction across different client sites.
This role requires a versatile, highly skilled chef with at least 5 years of high-end restaurant experience, particularly in NYC dining, who thrives in diverse and fast-paced environments.
What You'll Do:
Culinary Leadership:
Lead kitchen teams at multiple client sites, ensuring seamless operation and delivering culinary excellence.
Oversee all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring consistency and high-quality output.
Plan and execute seasonal menus, accommodating client preferences and dietary restrictions.
Collaborate with the management team to develop new offerings and ensure the highest standards of culinary performance.
Monitor food costs, waste reduction strategies, and implement cost-saving measures.
Team Management & Training:
Train and mentor kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen assistants, ensuring adherence to brand standards and operational excellence.
Supervise staff to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Ensure all kitchen personnel adhere to safety regulations, including food safety and sanitation protocols.
Guest Interaction & Customization:
Handle guest inquiries and special requests, ensuring a memorable dining experience.
Adapt menu offerings to fit the specific needs of various events, client requests, and locations.
Operational Support:
Maintain inventory levels and place orders as needed, ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly.
Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards.
Collaborate with event staff, front-of-house teams, and management to execute high-profile events and gatherings.
What We Need From You:
Experience:
5 years of high-end restaurant experience, with a focus on NYC dining.
Proven experience in culinary leadership, team management, and food production.
Strong understanding of food trends, techniques, and industry best practices.
Skills:
Expertise in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control.
Strong leadership and communication skills to manage teams and collaborate with management.
Ability to adapt to new environments and handle multiple kitchen operations while maintaining quality.
Passion for mentoring and training staff, ensuring skill development and adherence to standards.
Personal Traits:
Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
