Job Title: Registered Nurse - Berkeley Heights

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in Berkeley Heights. This role involves a mix of administrative and hands-on responsibilities, with a focus on patient care and efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

Perform phone triage and manage patient inquiries.
Update and prepare patient schedules and medication lists for doctors.
Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) using Athena.
Handle prescription refills and review patient cases.
Ensure efficient patient flow and proper preparation for patient visits.
Act as a liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
Verify patient identities and document care accurately.
Provide referrals and consult orders in a timely manner.
Check and maintain logs for emergency equipment.
Collect and accurately label lab specimens.
Obtain and document vital signs such as BP, temperature, pulse, height, and weight.
Demonstrate telephone triage protocols and document in EHR.
Schedule appointments accurately according to department guidelines.
Review and update medication lists in EHR, understanding prescription control and refill procedures.
Enter orders and schedule appointments in the Practice Management System (PMS) and EHR.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 2-3 years RN experience.
Experience with EMR systems (Athena or Epic preferred).
Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Valid NJ State Nursing License.
Active BLS certification.
Experience in outpatient, primary care, or hospital settings.

Flexibility with shifts.

Work Environment

This position involves 70% administrative work and 30% hands-on patient care. Responsibilities include triage, updating buckets, EMR updates, patient check-ins, and quick revisit clinical work. The role is initially a contract position with the potential to become permanent after 6 months. The shift is Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm, with a late shift on Tuesdays from 9:30am-6:00pm. Physical requirements include pushing, pulling, lifting heavy objects, physical mobility, agility, dexterity, balance, and endurance. The RN will report to the clinical manager and work closely with MAs and PSRs, with support from floater RNs as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $51.00
