GENERAL SUMMARY

Provides a full range of support services including excellent customer service in the welcoming and screening of patients and visitors to all New London Hospital facilities to ensure safety and high quality care. Provides general information to hospital/clinic visitors. Welcomes and directs patients, monitors assigned area(s) for security and housekeeping needs, escorts patients to various locations, explains current visitation policies.

FUNCTIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*
* At all times, wears appropriate PPE for their role at the entrance.
* Screens individuals entering the building as directed by Infection Prevention.
* Provides first line decision making with regard to protocols related to patients and visitors. Escalates issues to Manager as appropriate.
* Directs patients, their representatives and visitors in a friendly manner to all our facilities.
* Provides proper mask to those entering based on symptoms or status of patient, or visitor in alignment with CDC Guidelines and Infection prevention guidance.
* Guide patients through all steps of screening process to provide needed education regarding rationale for screening guidelines.
* Assists in cleaning of wheelchairs and waiting areas at entrance assigned to.
* Provides direct assistance to patients as needed and appropriate within their scope.
* Maintaindailyawareness of Screener Guidelines and Visitor Policies to remain up-to-date on changes that may have occurred.
* Collaborates with the Patient Experience Program Specialist in support of patient and family needs.
* Performs other duties as required or assigned.
