Surgical Services Scheduler - Operating Room, Per Diem

  • GENERAL SUMMARY
    • Function as a primary liaison between the Surgical Services Department, the physician's offices and inpatient departments, for the scheduling of patient surgical procedures.
  • FUNCTIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Scheduling
      • Schedules all surgical procedures, necessary equipment, and pre-op testing to ensure a smooth surgical course for the patient.
      • Coordinates patient scheduling with the surgeon's office, and confirms bed availability for inpatient admissions.
      • Schedules all procedures per blocked scheduling requirement and is proactive in filling all daily surgical slots.
      • Interacts with the physican offices and other involved departments to obtain the necessary patient information and records to assure a safe surgical procedure.
      • Consults with other departments, as needed and appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's pre and post surgical needs.
      • Performs daily chart audits.
      • Assists with Pre-op Interview Patient Flow.
  • POSITION REQUIREMENTS
    • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
      • Minimum of 2 years of similar experience required.
    • Experience
    • Education
      • High school dipolma or equivalent.
  • Area of Interest: Administrative Support/Clerical/Other;
  • Work Status: 0800-1630;
