Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Outpatient Neurology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) to join our neurology team. The APP will provide comprehensive care to patients with neurological conditions in an outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a passion for neurology, and a commitment to patient-centered care. Experience preferred, but not required.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examination, and review of diagnostic tests and imaging.
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic neurological conditions such as migraines, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and neuropathies.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans in collaboration with neurologists and other healthcare professionals.
Prescribe medications and therapies, and provide patient education on condition management, medication adherence, and lifestyle modifications.
Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures, including lumbar punctures, EMGs, and nerve conduction studies as appropriate.
Monitor and manage side effects and complications of neurological treatments.
Coordinate patient care with other specialties, primary care providers, and ancillary services to ensure comprehensive care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical records (EMR).
Mentor and precept new Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), APP students, and medical students.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research, and continuing education to stay current with best practices in neurology.
Comply with the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Bylaws for the Professional Staff and Code of Conduct.
Participate in continuing education programs for professional growth and development.
Advocate for patient rights, including privacy, confidentiality, and informed consent.
Provide compassionate and empathetic support to patients and their families, addressing their concerns and questions.
Perform additional duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Demonstrated interest in neurology.
Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
Maintain current licensure as an APRN or PA and DEA registration.
Maintain a current Physician Delegation Agreement (PAs only).
Maintain your national certification credentials
Strong clinical skills with a focus on evidence-based practice.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
