Camp Halfmoon, in Goffstown NH, is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the summer 2025 season! For over 50 years Camp Halfmoon has operated as a traditional outdoor day camp where we serve youth from 6-15 years old. Throughout the camp season, we encourage campers to try new things, help them build positive relationships, and create long-lasting memories. While simultaneously ensuring camper safety, acting as a positive role model, and of course, having fun. We strive to build supportive and empowering teams to help all team members show up as their best and most authentic selves, so that you can learn, grow and thrive during your tenure at the Y.
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for managing the camp office during the summer. This includes answering the phone, returning phone calls, tracking camper attendance, processing parent notes, understanding of daily operations and collaborating with camp leadership to ensure camper and staff safety.
Additional Responsibilities:
•Build positive nurturing relationships with campers
•Build cooperative relationships with coworkers, supervisors and participant families
•Support administering medications by completing the medication administration training and working with the Camp Medic on storage, logging, schedules and more as applicable
•Establish or enhance and maintain the camp's organizational procedures for the duration of the camp season
•Engage with campers in a way that fosters Character building
•Uphold the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Courage
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or equivalent
•Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form to necessary personnel in a timely manner
•Possess excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills
•Excellent use of Word, Excel and Outlook and general computer, tablet and database functions
•Must be available to attend camp trainings before and throughout camp season
•Able to bring a patient, caring, responsible, flexible and positive attitude to work
Position Specifics:
•Camp season runs 06/23/25 through 08/22/25 and must be able to work a majority of the camp weeks

Salary Description
$12.50 - $13.50hr depending upon experience
