JOB SUMMARY:
The primary role of a Systems/Security Engineer is the design, implementation, maintenance, and management of LPP's IT and security infrastructure. This position is deeply involved in all aspects of the business, directly interacting with users, technology, and vendors to securely enable LPP's mission. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a positive, solutions-oriented attitude, technical know-how, and an ability to troubleshoot complex problems.

DAILY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be the primary responsible party for LPP's security infrastructure across all aspects of the business.
Manage, monitor, and respond to alerts from LPP's SIEM system.
Stay abreast of cybersecurity news and appropriately respond to vulnerabilities and situations as they arise.
Perform vulnerability assessments of LPP's environment, and direct remediation efforts as appropriate.
Work as part of a team to support LPP's on-premises infrastructure, including VMware vSphere, Storage, Backup, Active Directory/Group Policy, and server environments.
Work as part of a team to support LPP's cloud infrastructure, including Azure, Microsoft/Office 365, and Entra ID.
Provide secondary support for LPP's network infrastructure, other members of the infrastructure team, and provide escalation support for the Service Desk.
Monitor, respond to, and appropriately update tickets in LPP's ITSM application.
Adhere to LPP's established change control policies.
Works to automate tasks and promote efficiencies across LPP's IT infrastructure.
Take a cybersecurity conscious approach to all systems design and management.
Work closely with other IT teams to ensure continuity of support and knowledge sharing/transfer.
Continuously create, maintain, and update documentation to preserve knowledge and promote continuity of support.
Monitor and respond to outages and alerts, supporting and coordinating with other IT teams and vendors, as necessary.
Lead, design, implement, and support IT projects as necessary.
Occasionally provide weekend and after-hours support as needed.
Participate in an on-call rotation for weekend and afterhours support.
Actively participate in team meetings and complete all required training/education.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

Ability to accurately troubleshoot and resolve both hardware and software based technical issues.
Working knowledge of Microsoft server products, such as Windows Server 2019, 2022, and Active Directory.
Strong knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, risk assessment, and analysis.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft/Office 365 products and services.
Experience with PowerShell and other scripting/automation methods.
Experience with KQL, or equivalent query languages.
Understanding of core infrastructure (networking/storage/etc) principals and concepts.
Effective customer service and interpersonal skills, both in person and in writing.
Strong ethics and the ability to resolve issues in a manner consistent with LPP's values.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
• Three years' prior experience in an information technology operations role is required.
• Associate's degree or higher in an Information Technology related field is desirable.
• Previous system engineering and/or security engineering experience is highly desirable.
• Microsoft or CISSP certification is highly desirable.
