Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience in a hospital with over 200 beds and Level 1 trauma center
License: ND or compact state RN License
Certifications:
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• ACLS (American Heart Association)
• NIHSS
Must-Have:
• Experience with titrating vasopressor drips required (must be evident on resume or skills checklist)
• EPIC experience required
• Manage 1-3 critically ill patients across varying populations, including neuro, cardiac, CT surgery, trauma, medical, and surgical patients.
• Ability to manage vasopressors, sedatives, analgesics, inotropics, antiarrhythmics, and other titratable drips.
• Assist with bedside procedures such as rapid sequence intubation, EVD placement, tracheostomy, and line placement.
• Utilize equipment such as EPIC EMR, Omnicell Automated Dispensing Cabinet, Aleris IV pumps, MOOG Feeding pumps, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, EVD, Phillips Patient Monitoring Systems, and Impella.
• Required to call in daily prior to the shift to determine working location.
• Float to all critical care departments with patient ratios up to 4:1 in Intermediate ICU and 3:1 in Broadway ICU. May also float to medical-surgical units as needed.
• Commitment to 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday work.
• Dress code requires navy scrubs.
Training and Orientation:
• 32 hours of orientation: 8 hours of hospital orientation, 8 hours in the primary unit, 4 hours in Intermediate ICU, and 12 hours in Broadway ICU, all within the first week of the assignment.
