RN Cardiac Stepdown - Nights (36 Hours Only)Key Details:

RTO Policy: No RTO after booking. Call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation or DNR.

Floating: Per unit rotation; not first to float.
Weekend: 4 shifts per 4 weeks (flexible).

Requirements:

Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of cardiac experience (1.5 years in CVICU in a large facility may be considered).
- Traveler experience required unless 24 months cardiac experience.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (must pass EKG testing before start).
Skills:
- Cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown.
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
- Sheath removal, post MI/Cath care, cardiac drip titration, chest tube management, CPAP/BIPAP, non-invasive airway management.
Preferred Skills: Arterial line management, wound care/wound vac, charge nurse experience.

Patient Diagnoses:

Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, CAD, Aortic/Mitral Regurgitation, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD, PAD, Vasculitis, Venous Stasis, Post MI, Post Cath.

Special Procedures:

CABG, TAVR, AVR, MVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman), FEM-POP bypass, thoracic surgeries, vascular surgeries, DCCV, pacemaker placements.

Equipment & Systems:

Equipment: Doppler, EKG, Bladder scanner, Femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Epicardial pacing wires.
Systems: Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR.

Additional Info:

Ratios:
- 1:4 for surgical stepdown.
- 1:5-6 for lower acuity patients.
Scrubs: Navy.
Storm/Hurricane Team: May be required to report during catastrophic events.

Minimum Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required. *May screen if 1.5 year of CVICU experience in a large facility
Traveler Experience: Required UNLESS traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience.

JOB DETAILS:
Ratios: Varies per Acuity. Ratios are 1:4 for surgical step down, and 1:5-6 for lower acuity

Float Requirement: Will follow unit rotation - not first to float
Weekend Requirement: 4 per 4 weeks (flexible)
• Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed

PATIENT DIAGNOSES: Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, Client, CAD, Aortic stenosis/regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid stenosis, Venous stasis, sheath management, sheath removal.

SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS: CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, Carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, Amputations, Other vascular surgeries, Cardiac surgeries, Thoracic surgeries, General thoracic surgery, Post cath, Post DCCV, Post electrophysiology procedures, Pacemaker placements.

SPECIAL EQUIPMENT: Arterial lines (not required), Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG, Femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Chest tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires.

UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication): Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR

SCHEDULING TYPE: Self

UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hours

SCRUBS: Navy
