ControllerGENERAL DESCRIPTION OR SUMMARY:

The Controller is responsible for multiple accounting functions including: accounts payable, inventory, fixed assets, maintaining daily & monthly bank accounts & cash balances, reconciling General Ledger accounts and adhoc reporting.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including but not limited to:
- month and year-end process
- accounts payable
- accounts receivable
- cash receipts
- general ledger maintenance
- treasury, budgeting
- revenue and expenditure variance analysis
- capital assets reconciliations
- inventory support
Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow and liquidity management, ensuring the company's financial stability and adequate working capital.
Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize expenses without compromising quality or service.
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial regulations.
Coordinate and complete annual audits, working closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth and accurate audit process.
Improve systems and procedures: Continuously assess and enhance financial systems and processes, proactively identifying areas for improvement, and initiating corrective actions to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
Develop staff: Manage the performance of the accounting department team, set clear goals, provide ongoing training and development opportunities, and maintain strong employee relationships to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Establish and maintain fiscal files and records: Create and maintain organized and accurate fiscal files and records to document all financial transactions, ensuring data integrity and accessibility

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATIONAL SKILLS and EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role
Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of an organization
Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems.
