MH14Description of WorkCherry Hospital is currently accepting applications for a Medical Laboratory Technologist I.
Reporting to the Clinical Laboratory, this position is responsible for a wide variety of both moderate and high complexity laboratory tests.
Professional judgement is a requirement for this position.
The person will be responsible for producing accurate and reliable test results which contribute to prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of physiological and pathological conditions.
This position is for a Lead Hematology Technologist.
CAP regulatory standards will be followed and adhered to these standards.
This technologist is responsible for instrument maintenance and supplies for the Hematology Department.
• This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies Considerable knowledge of the variety of laboratory procedures.
Thorough knowledge of the hazards of working with potentially infectious materials and the appropriate safety precautions to avoid infections.
Demonstrated experience using laboratory equipment, instrumentation and terminology.Knowledge of the psychophysiology processes being monitored and how the medical laboratory science is applied.

Bachelor s degree in medical technology, chemistry, or a biological science from an appropriately accredited institution ORAssociate degree in medical technology from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in a medical laboratoryORCompletion of a Certified Laboratory Assistant course in medical technology, ora comparable course and three years of experience in a medical laboratoryORan equivalent combination of education and experience.
