Description & Requirements

Maximus is looking for an experienced network engineer supporting a contract for a Federal research and health agency. This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of network or telecommunications components to drive network efficiency and availability. Maintain network quality standards to achieve optimal levels of operation and service level agreement (SLA)/KPI targets. Tracks and monitors network traffic and performance to ensure minimal interruption to network transmission and/or network switches. Corrects network problems effectively and in a timely manner. Integrates initiatives, industrialization, and efficiencies to network facilities for improvements (i.e., enhancements, updates, upgrades, and new systems). Continuously revises procedures and uses tools to monitor network performance

Position Requirements:

Due to program requirements, individuals must be US Citizens, authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, and eligible to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance.
Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a closely related field (Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology).
5 years demonstrated experience as a network engineer, administrator, or telecommunications engineer.

Key Skills: Demonstrated experience supporting an enterprise network leveraging Cisco products including: Layer 3 routing, Layer 2 switching, NXOS/IOS, MDS, FEX, Identity Services (ISE), Firepower Threat Detection, Stealthwatch (SNA), Cisco Telemetry Broker (CTB), DNA Center, and related technologies.
Experience with network monitoring solutions such as Solarwinds.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or Cisco Certified Network Practitioner (CCNP) certifications preferred.
Previous experience supporting federal health and research agencies like HHS and/or NIH.
Familiarity and experienced with enterprise IT functions including data center networking, server administration, storage, and cybersecurity preferred.

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
