With our commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and delivering high-quality survey data, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Survey Instrument Person to join our esteemed field survey crews.
As a Survey Instrument Person at SGC Surveying, you will play a crucial role in supporting our projects and ensuring the precise collection of survey data.
Your expertise in operating conventional surveying equipment and your meticulous attention to detail will contribute to the seamless preparation of plans and reports for our clients.
• Compensation is based on experience.
Candidates must sit local to our Jacksonville, NC office.
• of the Survey Instrument Person:
Operate conventional surveying equipment, including Total Stations, Levels, Data Collectors, etc.Execute specific, field-related assignments using prescribed methods as requested by a Project Manager, Project Surveyor, or Survey Technician III.Apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, collect data, keep proper notes, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.Maintain organization and cleanliness of the survey equipment, the equipment room, and all survey vehicles.Notify the project supervisor of the status of supplies that may be running low.Receive supervision on new aspects of assignments.Requirements of the Survey Instrument Person:
Associates degree in engineering or surveying from an ABET-accredited curriculum or five years of related experience a plus.Must successfully complete drug screening and background check, including 7-year criminal history check and Motor Vehicle Record check.Valid driver's license required.Work Environment:
Required to travel 100% to field project sites.Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboarding; machine operation; etc.) most of the workday.Required to exert physical effort in handling objects up to 50 pounds frequently.Required to exert physical effort in navigating difficult terrain frequently.Join our team at SGC Surveying and contribute to our legacy of precision and excellence in the surveying industry.
