Benesch is seeking to hire a Senior Site/Civil Engineer/Technical Manager to join the Land Development Design team in our Charlotte office.
In this position, you'll hold a first-level technical management position with guidance from senior leadership.
This role entails supervising staff, mentoring their technical skills, and contributing to project management.
Your responsibilities will involve managing technical project elements, communicating progress and issues, and actively participating in professional organizations.

As a Technical Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in the execution of projects and the development of technical talent within the North Carolina division.
Your expertise and leadership will directly impact project success, ensuring the completion of accurate and compliant technical analyses and designs.
Through your mentorship and involvement in professional organizations, you'll contribute to the continuous advancement of technical knowledge and the North Carolina divisionreputation within the industry.

This position will report to our Charlotte office location on a hybrid or fixed work schedule.

• Provide guidance and direction in technical project elements, ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of analyses and designs, thereby enhancing project outcomes and client satisfaction
• Communicate technical progress and issues to Project Managers promptly, facilitating informed decision-making and proactive problem-solving, ultimately contributing to project efficiency and success
• Train and mentor staff, imparting technical knowledge and skills and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team
• Perform, review, and manage technical analyses and designs, ensuring completeness and compliance with quality standards, thereby mitigating risks and ensuring project integrity
• Actively participate in professional organizations enhancing personal expertise and contributing to industry advancement
• Assist with business development efforts and proposal development, leveraging technical expertise to secure new opportunities and drive company growth
• Identify opportunities for implementation of technical processes within the North Carolina division, standardizing work plans and enhancing efficiency and consistency in project execution, facilitating continuous improvement and innovation across projects and teams
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on projects, providing specialized knowledge and insights to optimize project outcomes and deliver added value to clients
• Continually advance knowledge of software, codes, and standards through training and seminars, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and emerging technologies

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Professional Engineering License in the state of North Carolina
• Demonstrated minimum of 12 years of experience in the site civil land development industry with proven expertise in developing project plans, obtaining permits and observation of construction activities
• Previous experience in AutoCAD civil 3D and various design software for land development projects
• Showcase strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling efficient decision-making and resolution of complex technical challenges
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills to interface with stakeholders, fostering clear and transparent communication channels and promoting collaboration
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, facilitating clear and concise interactions with clients, team members, and stakeholders
