Position Summary:
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to take a key role in designing and developing custom automated machinery. This position offers the chance to work closely with senior engineers, customers, and cross-functional teams to drive projects from concept to completion. You'll be responsible for:
Developing innovative machinery designs, generating detailed 3D models, and creating comprehensive drawing packages.
Identifying and specifying materials and components and working with suppliers to ensure timely procurement.
Participating in and occasionally leading design reviews, while maintaining Bills of Materials and managing Engineering Change Requests/Notices (ECRs/ECNs).
Performing detailed engineering calculations to validate designs and enhance performance.
Managing technical projects, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and resource needs are all met effectively.
Acting as the primary technical liaison to customers, offering expert guidance and maintaining open lines of communication on project progress.
Collaborating with Controls Engineers and the Manufacturing team to ensure smooth integration and assembly of equipment.
Supporting hands-on equipment testing and troubleshooting to ensure successful deployment.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented individual who thrives on solving complex challenges and working within a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have:
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks experience preferred).
Demonstrated success in designing and executing custom machinery projects, from initial concept to final implementation.
The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver high-quality results.
At least 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, particularly in automation or custom machinery.
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred but not required with relevant experience).
Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to engage and collaborate with clients.
